Not anymore. This election has showed me that common sense does not reign in America.
Now I am fired up.
I watched the last few years go by with left wing lunatics spouting all kinds of garbage about GW and republicans and all of it made no sense at all. And then I got to watch the economy go into the tank due to giving mortgages to those that couldn’t afford it, with people like Barny Frank blaming Wall Street and the Republican ideas of deregulation for that downfall when it started with them. They and their ACORN lackies perpetuated this mess and spun it in such a way that the public for the most part believed it all.
And it makes me sick. The lies, the bullshit, the power hungry, pork spending, country dividing rhetoric.
All of it.
So what about it? Well, I’m not sure what to do just yet. Blogging alone won’t make enough of a difference. I even teasingly told my wife a few weeks ago I should run for congress in a few years and she surprisingly gave me the OK. So maybe that is in the future.
What about right now?
We need to support people like Sarah Palin, Bobby Jindal, Jeff Flake, Paul Ryan, etc. Whoever has the guts to stand up and lead, to not be afraid of being a Republican.
We also definitely need to be more organized and get the word out better. We need to reinvent this party. I don’t think creating a new party of conservatives only or whatever will work. The money involved, the established infrastructure is too big to just jump ship and start over, it will never work. We need to take the party back and make it run like we want the government to run. Lean, agile and fast.
Get rid of the likes of Ted Stevens and that old establishment. Officials like that are against everything that I believe should be happening in Washington.
Personally I’m not afraid of mavericks like John McCain. Mavericks are needed to get things done. Essentially what we need is a whole party of mavericks. Not necessarily with the same mindset of McCain, but the same spirit. Mavericks in the sense of going against the established government instead of against the party.
So, what say you? Have I gone off the deep end or am I on the right track here?
