HotAir.com has a post about the impending collapse of the Venezuela government due in large part to Hugo Chavez’s spending on social programs and not paying the contractors that keep his one vital money maker flowing. oil.

What does this have to do with the U.S.? Simple. The U.S. is borrowing heavily from China to fund our social programs and at any time they could simply stop, or keep going to the point where we can’t afford to borrow anymore and worse, not pay anything back. What will happen then?

Here is my favorite part:

Chavez faces another key vote this year. If he stops spending money on his pet projects, he’ll lose the support of the poor, practically his only constituency now. If he doesn’t pay the contractors, though, his entire economy could collapse, creating a huge backlash against the man who claimed nationalization would cure all Venezuela’s ills. Chavez may soon reach the end of his rope, and as Benito Mussolini discovered when his dictatorship resulted in disaster, that’s not necessarily a figurative phrase.

Many in this country also think socialism is the way to go. Newsweek even claims we are already there, that we are just like France.

Will we fore go our failed social programs to save the country? Is that what it will take for people of this country to finally wake up and see what a mess government controlled social programs are and how they are slowing killing us? I’m not generally a pessimist, but I have no faith in the American public. This past election has proven how the ignorant and lazy can elect people into office whose only goal is power and corruption.

You can sure bet that these foreign donaters will be calling up Bill whenever something arises. It’ll be interesting to see how many scandals sprout up from this.

However in this particular case I think “over reation” is exactly the right move. When it comes to war you don’t fight an eye for an eye. No, you fight to wipe out. Utterly and completely. If you don’t then the conflict drags on and on and never ends.

Talk to any decent military commander and they will tell you the fastest way to win is overwhelming force. It was the basis for the Iraq war’s “shock and awe” campaign. It was the basis for the ending days of the Gulf War when we destroyed 100’s of retreating military vehicles. You are not out to destroy the people necessarily, you are out to destroy their means of waging war.

Back to Israel. Look at what they are doing, they are going so far as to tell the Palestinians that they are coming. Called people and told them to leave/move/whatever. If the military calls you and says they are going to block up your city block and you don’t move, you’re a fucking idiot. Plain and simple. Not only that, but Israel telegraphed their plan by lining up their military at the border for a couple days before moving forward.

Hamas isn’t entirely stupid though. They knew they would get world wide sympathy for what they are doing, which tells you the state of the world.

Apparently Putin told Nicolas Sarkozy that he wanted to hang the Georgian President by the balls after Sarkozy told Putin that the world would not accept the overthrow of Georgia. Here is part of the exchange:

“I am going to hang Saakashvilli by the balls,” Putin replied (to Sarkozy regarding the overthrow statement)

Sarkozy responded: “Hang him?”

“Why not? The American hanged Saddam Hussein,” Putin said.

Sarkozy replied, using the familiar “tu”: “Yes but do you want to end up like (President) Bush?”

Putin was briefly lost for words, then said: “Ah, you have scored a point there.”

Two things are interesting there. First, Bush didn’t hang Saddam, the Iraqi’s did. The U.S. doesn’t allow hanging anymore (although we should…). Second, Saddam was brutal dictator that not only defied the world, but murdered his own people. Saakashvilli is nether.

As reported by IBD Editorials, Iran could posses missiles capable of reaching all of Europe and perhaps the U.S. in roughly five years according to the head of the Missile Defense Agency, General Henry Obering.

That urgency, Israel Radio reported Obering as saying, was that Iran is not far from attaining the means to use missiles against all of Europe and against the U.S. in five to six years.

What is even scarier was this from Dinshaw Mistry, professor and missile proliferation expert at the University of Cincinnati.

Mistry warns that if its own missile development falls short, Iran could acquire North Korea’s Taepo Dong ICBM technology to strike at the United States. It wouldn’t have to be accurate. A single warhead detonated high over the U.S. would unleash an electromagnetic pulse that would fry our high-tech economy and send us back a century or more. Millions would die or starve from its aftereffects.

All of this while the Democrats want to cut defense spending by 25%. IBD’s lead in was exactly right:

While the U.S. scores yet another successful missile intercept, the missile defense chief warns that Iran could target all of Europe and the U.S. within five years. It’s 3 a.m., and the phone is ringing.

Forgot all about these two did you? Seems that after some heated talks, NK threatened to turn SK into ‘debris’.

The North threatened to cut off all ties if the “confrontational racket” continues, citing a South Korean general’s recent threats to launch a pre-emptive strike against its nuclear sites and the refusal of civic activists in the South to heed Pyongyang’s demands to cease distribution of propaganda leaflets critical of its leadership.

“The puppet authorities had better remember that the advanced pre-emptive strike of our own style will reduce everything opposed to the nation and reunification to debris, not just setting them on fire,” the North’s military said in a statement carried by the state-run Korean Central News Agency.

Well, if it isn’t Iran that causes the “test” of Obama, as Biden puts it, or McCain if he becomes president, then it might just be North Korea. The statement of “…reduce everthing…to debris…” implies a nuclear attack. However I doubt NK would drop a nuke right next door, but who knows…

Since the Israelies decided to take the initiative and kill a couple middle eastern women, I thought I would reveal their secret. You see first you have to be facing an enemy that is utterly fanatical and therefore not too bright. Now, the trick is to start shooting at the enemy while they are in or near one of their shrines, that way they don’t have far to drag their injured comrades for their final prayers.

If you are truly lucky you will be facing a dumber than normal enemy and that enemy will enlist, cajole or otherwise bribe a bunch of women to come running to their rescue — after all they know they can’t win — and you keep shooting. Just because this new enemy comes into the battle without a dick, although they do have big balls, doesn’t mean they can’t stop a bullet just like any other enemy. Besides, if you are dumb enough to be coerced into running in front of flying bullets without being able to shoot back, you deserve to get shot.

Don’t worry about the political backlash you might receive from the rest of the world. After all, arm chair generals are not the ones getting shot at right? To hell with them. Tell them to keep drinking their koolaid and send you some more ammo, you have righteous work to do.

While I’m not one of these anti-Iraq, it’s all Bush’s fault, point-the-finger-at-republicans idiots you see a lot on TV and such, Iraq is still quite the mess. If you look at the situation closely though it isn’t really our (meaning Americans) fault, it is the religious wackos over there that are the problem. They have gone from primarily targeting and fighting us to killing each other. We just happen to get in the way. In a situation like that there is only so much we can do militarily.

While the republicans are pretty much following the party line on the matter, only a small handful of democrats are offering any ideas for what to do. They range everything from pulling out completely to symbolically pulling out. Well, I’ve come up with my own idea on how to solve this.

The main reason at the moment to stay is to keep Iraq from collapsing from all of the infighting between the Suni’s, Shi’ites and Kurds and the whole region erupting into a war. So here is what we do, we take our troops out of the cities and stop playing hide and seek with these Qur’an thumping, virgin seeking rag heads. We take the troops and basically surround the country, putting them primarily on the Iranian and Syrian borders. We then add backup troops in Saudi and Turkey (where we have them anyway). Of course we provide a nice wall of firepower around the oil facilities as well.

Once we do that, we them have the civil war that they are so determined to have. Every new country needs a good civil war to get out the bullshit and release their chest thumping tensions. Our troops would only be there then to keep everyone else from interfering and influencing the outcome, thus preventing the whole region from becoming one big war zone. Not one camel gets across the border and not one magic carpet flies into Iraq until they are done knocking each other off.

Now, once they have killed enough of each other and decided that they want to live in peace, we let them reestablish their government — overseeing everything of course to make sure they aren’t just playing around — and make ammends. Everyone shakes hands, smiles for the cameras, the infidels have a beer and all is well in the middle east. HOWEVER, if they can’t come to a reasonable outcome and are still fighting over which version of rag to wear then we start knocking off whatever bad guys are left, starting at the top, until they become reasonable.

If they still won’t submit, then we divide the country up and give one third to Turkey (the Kurds will love that), one third to Saudi Arabia, and one third to Jordan. Of course we tell them that this will be the outcome before hand so that they will have motivation to calm down and act like the civil people their core religion says they are.

In any event, our troops stay out of the way other than to prevent outside influence. They get a nice rest and play ring masters instead of cops. Also, given their concentrated positions, they can easily redeploy as necessary to say Korea.

If all goes well, we are out of there in a year or so with very minimal to no casualities and we don’t spend another couple of billion on ammo, fuel, etc. chasing these guys around the sand. Even better, we round up the good Iraqi people that have small businesses and such, take them to a nice safe haven and provide them with food and shelter while their deranged countrymen beat each other up. When the fighting is done, we help them rebuild their businesses and homes that were destroyed. In the end, they either have a peaceful, productive country or they have no country at all.

Hell, it might even piss of Iran enough that they get twitchy and we can take care of that problem while we are there. Or they might realize that several regiments of U.S. tanks on their border isn’t a good thing and stop playing games with their nuclear program.

In this article Marcela Sanchez talks about the relativity of poverty for illegal immigrants. While I thought the article touched on some good points, it completely fell into stupidity with her final statement “and with that they are doing more than anyone else to stem the future flow of immigration.” I want what she is smoking! Does she really think that because some illegals are sending home a few bucks that others aren’t going to come? Be real here, if I have a brother who is working in Canada and makes several hundred times what I do and sends me a few bucks, is that going to make me not want to go? Hell no, I’m going to make those bucks myself.

And those few bucks that they are sending home? Some 45 billion dollars. If that isn’t foreign aid I don’t know what is. I can’t imagine how many tacos that buys, but I’ll bet it is quite a bit. The democrats keep saying that the recently passed legislation for building the wall on the border has no funding, well I have a solution. We take whatever foreign we were giving to Mexico and use that. I’ve seen numbers in the 11-20 million range. That may not be enough, but with 45 billion going their way they won’t miss it. Then we up the taxes on those businesses that hire illegals by double. No proof of your employees residence or right to work, and you pay out the ass for taxes to build a wall to keep their buddies home. I’ll be it would get funded within a year.

Poor old Jimmy thinks that Bush has undone all the great negotiating that he did with the North Koreans. Even if that were true, he is the last person who should be opening up his trap. Seriously, coming from a man whose presidence is only remembered by the hostages that were taken, not to mention the slap in the face when those hostages were released as soon as Reagan took office, this guy doesn’t have too much to credibility.

Perhaps he should stick to what he does best, making houses for the poor. Better yet, why don’t we send mr. diplomat back to Korea for another shot? It might go something like this:

“Hello Mr. Reasonable Dictator”

“Hello house builder.”

“uhh, OK, I know you didn’t hold up your end of the deal last time so I’m here to get this worked out once and for all.”

“What deal? Oh yea that one. Hey, tell Bill thanks for the millions he sent.”

“I’ll do that…”

“And tell him I liked Monica, but he should have gotten a bigger joy brigade, like mine!”

“Mr. Reasonable Dictator, can we get back to the issue at hand?”

“Sure, sure. What are you going to give me this time?”

“I’ll tell you what, if you say that this is all Bush’s fault and if we promise to elect a democrat for president I’ll come back and build new houses for the millions and millions of poor people in your country.”

“Hmm… will you pay for all of the construction?”

“But of course.”

“Deal.”

This is just too good. Mexico in its infinite wisdom is wanting to get United Nations and European Union support for keeping the US from building the proposed 700 mile wall on the border. So instead of improving their piss poor economy and keeping their own citizens working, they want us to allow their free loading people to just keep on coming over and doing whatever they want. Perhaps we should put this another way…
They want their criminals to have free access to our country, work in our country and naturally send some of their money back. Sounds reasonable doesn’t it? This isn’t about helping out some poor mexicans, or filling jobs that Americans may or may not want to do in the first place, that is all beside the point. The point that everyone seems to forget is that they are coming here ILLEGALLY. If they signed up for their visas, worked legally, did what they had to do to become citizens — like some many millions before them — then by all means, welcome to America! Pay your taxes, feed your familiy and enjoy the American dream.

Obviously that is asking way to much of them however, and their brilliant government thinks so as well. Of course their government can’t seem to do anything for them, so I guess it seems somewhat reasonable that they should back them coming here illegally.

Here we go, the masters of hypocracy, aka democrats, are claiming that Bush’s failed policies are the reason that Korea has nukes, and normally quiet Hillary is leading the shit slinging.

Never mind that North Korea cheated on her husband’s agreement immediately after it was made (there is a pun there somewhere…). Never mind that Korea has been working on nukes since the 80’s according to some reports. Nope, that fact that the current president couldn’t stop the building of the bomb that was decades in the making is all that matters. Are people really ignorant enough to believe this crap? Yep. If China couldn’t stop the North Koreans, and don’t forget that China supplies some 50% of NK’s goods and oil, then our humble rancher in the oval office sure isn’t going to.
Just how much influence do we have over North Korea? hhmmm… next to none. Instead of blaming the United Nations or even China for North Korea — neither of which would have been able to help really — we have to blame the president. It doesn’t matter that the current president is a republican, even if the president was a democrat he still wouldn’t have been able to do anything about it. But, it is politics as usual and one party has to blame the other for something they have no control or influence on; all in the name of getting votes.

Now if we were talking about Japan or South Korea, then we could have some influence. After all, both of those countries rely on America’s arsenal for their safety. With the recent turn of events however, that might all change. The chance of America retaliating in kind with nukes to a North Korea attack on a neighbor are pretty small, which means these countries are most likely going to build their own bombs to throw across the border. If what I have heard about Japan is correct, they already have enough to material to build up more than enough nukes to scare the shit out of everyone in the region.

Well North Korea finally popped the big one. They had to piss off the world and prove that they really did have the bomb and they could play in the big sandbox with the rest of us. It seems that Kim Jong suffers pretty badly from both little dick syndrome and short man syndrome. Obviously having his own little country and all of the perks that go along with it wasn’t enough to show that he is a ‘big man’. Of course it never is for most dictactors.

Kim Jong’s short comings (all puns intended) aside, the real problem of course is a new arms race in the region. Japan has gotten quite testy about North Korea and with this new threat I’m sure the Japanese citizens will back changing their constitution to have greater military muscle and it is the cold war all over again. It wasn’t all that long ago when Japan was spreading its empire throughout the region so that will surely be on the back of everyone’s mind.

The only ones that can really hurt North Korea is China, as they provide some 50% of North Korea’s imports. China however is rather reluctant to do the heavy hitting here as they are afraid of a ton of Korean refugees. It sucks having to do the right thing doesn’t it?

United Nations? They can’t do anything. They are about as worthless as the politicians that run it. All their talk and resolutions do nothing but waste time and money.

So what is the answer? Who knows. All out war is pretty much out of the question at this point. What should have happened, and what should happen to Iran, is someone should have taken out their nuclear facilities before they had a chance to make the bomb in the first place, much like Israel did to Iraq. Now we have a dickless dictator with the potential to shoot the big bomb at his neighbors, or worse, sell the thing to some terrorist group that has the balls to use the thing without concern or remorse and have nothing to lose as well.
