Actually she is already here, in Henderson NV (Las Vegas for those that don’t know). While I wouldn’t mind going, I don’t particularly care for these little pep rallies. I don’t even care to watch them on TV either. Let’s face it, no matter what candidate giving the rally, they rarely say anything really substantial or informative. It isn’t like she is going to talk to a group of union workers or the ACLU. No, she is talking to a group of supporters and largely telling them what they want to hear.
Now, if I were to run for office I would want to have a rally for the group of people that are NOT in my party. That’s right, I want to talk to a group of democrats and try my hardest to get them to see the error of their ways. Who knows, maybe I would get a vote or two, which is certainly more than talking to those that are already going to vote for me.
Naturally you can’t avoid your base entirely, but why not have the candidates talk to each others members? The problem would be however, that a republican trying to have a civil discussion with democrats might be an exercise in frustration.
