The whole “bankrupt the coal plants” thing by Obama probably won’t save McCain, but a couple of interesting side things concerning this subject have come up.
First, while watching Hannity and Colmes, Colmes in typical fashion kept saying that Obama supports clean coal technology. Hmm… well Biden told someone in Ohio in September that “we’re not supporting clean coal” and “No coal plants in America.”
So which is it? Even if they did support clean coal, their plan would bankrupt all of the existing coal plants and force the building of new coal plants on the new technology. Apparently only a few are actually operational according to the DOE. So what about the other 1500 power plants?
If they were forced into bankruptcy due to taxation or penalties, can you imagine the cost of electricity in this country? Never mind the 100’s of thousands of jobs gone. But hey, we have solar and wind power to save us, right?
